I was looking for a way to figure out which users uploaded which data entries. My project was public, bit when I set it to private names appeared with the entries in the metadata.
My issue is that some of the entries are showing up as created by n/a. There are only three people uploading. All three frequently appear on the created_by column of the metadata. Why would some entries appear as n/a?
In the case of a public project, where authentication is not mandatory, user details are not recorded when submitting entries without prior login.
However, when a project transitions to a private state, authentication becomes a prerequisite for new entries.
Nevertheless, for existing entries, as they may not have associated user data, it defaults to ‘N/A’.
You could just add the recorder as one of the question boxes, it would also help others looking at records to know who it was that entered it.
