Hello!
I have a project on Epi collect 5 and I was using the mobile app version to collect data from study facility. For privacy purpose I have created a separate email address with data manger privilege for each facility for authentication purpose. Usually, we do the data collection few weeks-months after installing the app. However, although we are log in using the facility email address using the app installation, the app is requesting multiple authenication while uploading the data to the surver .
Looking forward for your help .
Regards,
Thank you!
For enhanced security within our mobile app, only one device can be authenticated at a time. This means that if you log in to the app on one mobile device, and then log in on another mobile device, the first device will be automatically logged out.
For example, if you log in to the app on your smartphone (Device A) while at home, and then later log in on your tablet (Device B), the app on your smartphone will be logged out to ensure that only one mobile device remains authenticated.
However, web access is not affected by this restriction. You can still access your account through the web on your computer or other devices simultaneously, even if you’re logged in to the mobile app on one device. This allows you to maintain access to your account on both your mobile app and the web without interruption.

Thank you for the feedback, I really appreciated.
We were using the mobile app version on study participants smart phone for them to report study outcome. Is there any method to enable multiple device log in so that multiple participant are able to report their outcome simultaneously?
Thank you again for the help
Each of the participants must have a different Epicollect5 account
Hi, thank you for your feedback.
Sorry for the confusion. I am not concerned about patients’ (who all have different devices) simultaneously sending their data to the server. That is not likely to happen. What i wanted to ask in my text above was when every patient has signed in using the same email account will they be able to send their report/ data without being asked for a privacy confirmation? Currently the mobile app is requesting a privacy confirmation for every data upload although we logged and sign into to the project during app installation at patient recruitment.
For security reasons, the authenticated session on the Epicollect5 app does not last indefinitely. If you use the email authentication flow, the session will last for 72 hours. After this period, you will need to re-authenticate. However, if you sign in using Google or Apple, the session duration is longer.
Once authenticated on a device, you can upload entries without needing to re-login until the session expires or the same account is used on another device.
