It seems from the documentation that if more than one form exists in a project, they need to have some relationship, like a hierarchy. I’ve attempted to create a second form, and picked the child form selection, but I cannot see it. Is there some place to go in Form Builder to simply create a second unassociated form? Or do I need to create a new project for the purpose?

that’s correct, forms need to have a parent > child relationship

what do you mean?
To enter data to a child form, you need to select the parent entry first. If you do not add a parent entry, you cannot add data to its child. Please have read at Add Entries (Multiple Forms) | Epicollect5 Data Collection User Guide
If you do need unrelated forms, you can just create different projects.
