Question
Dear Epicollect5 Team.
I’m Juan Sebastian Hurtado Zapata from Colombia and currently I’m working in a project with Ministry of Public Health from Ecuador using Epicollect for collecting data in field, something is supported across Field Epidemiology Training Program’s team from there. We’re attending a outbreak for unknown diseases in very spread rural area (Sierra/Oriente), and we’re going to include questions regarding to identification numbers, type of document, location and clinical conditions (it last is very sensitive data). One of the questions that was asked me from decision makers in Ecuador, was related with privacy and security of the data from patients and surveyed people, those one were, Where will stayed this information?, who can be use this information and how can we make sure of this information will be hidden or protected of other persons different of the who will be enrolled for collecting data or management?.
Finally I’d like to thank your for this excellent tool, is powerful and helpful in special for collecting epidemiology data in field, where we need have tools that allow to standardize the process using dynamics media and we can employs till places where we don’t have internet coverage. Additionally, this data can be export a different statistics platforms for analysis information and evaluation of th impact regarding to presence of public health events. I’ve using this platform roughly two years and ever I was able to got excellent results.
PD: I’m TDR/WHO fellow in IDDO currently, so will can be an excellent opportunity to meet each other and talk more about of the other further considerations of Epicollect5.
Greetings and best wishes
