Hello Epicollect support team,
I would like to report an issue with textbox fields in the mobile application.
The problem happens when entering text in a textbox field, especially in the “Observations” field. This field was created in the form builder as a Text Box. The issue is not related to a specific project, because it happens regardless of the project being used.
When I type a phrase and press the space bar to continue writing, the words are automatically reordered or moved within the field. For example, if I type:
“Maria Ingracia”
after pressing space to continue writing, the text may change to:
“Ingracia Maria”
This makes data entry difficult because the information does not remain in the same order in which it was typed. Users have to delete and rewrite the text several times until it appears correctly, which causes delays during fieldwork.
The issue occurs in the mobile app while filling out forms, mainly in textbox fields used for observations or long text notes. I have already reviewed the form configuration and there does not seem to be any setting that would cause this behavior.
This tool is currently being used to support field data collection for a government entity. For this reason, it is very important to resolve this issue as soon as possible, since the accuracy and order of the information entered in the forms are essential for official records and operational decision-making.
Could you please help us verify if this may be a mobile app issue, a textbox field issue, or a compatibility issue with the keyboard?
